Back-to-School Event for Nevada County Families: volunteers needed!

Saturday, August 3rd
Nevada Union High School Hooper Stadium
11761 Ridge Rd, Grass Valley, CA

Many families in Nevada County struggle to provide basic necessities, especially for the new school year. That’s why local businesses, non-profits, and civic leaders are partnering with Convoy of Hope to make sure all of Nevada County’s students can start the school year ready to learn!

On August 3, Interfaith Food Mininstry and Twin Cities Church are organizing a completely free Back-to-School event offering backpacks filled with school supplies, new shoes and socks, groceries, free haircuts, activities and free lunch for the whole family.

Let’s show our love for our neighbors and help Nevada County families start the school year off right!

Interfaith Food Ministry is seeking volunteers for the day of the event:

6-10am: Event Prep, unloading pallets of food & assembling bags of food to be distributed at the event (need MANY volunteers, likely more than 30!)

10am-1pm: Distribute bags of food to families (will need 6-8 volunteers)

10am-1pm: Setup and Staff an info booth for Interfaith Food Ministry in the resources area of the event, share info, answer questions (will need 2-3 volunteers)

Sign up by contacting Interfaith Food Ministry’s Judi Wade: bjwade@outlook.com
