Charlene Dugan – Member at Large, Board of Trustees
Charlene Dugan has been a UU for more than 35 years. She enjoyed a long career as a speech-language pathologist and coordinator of the preschool diagnostic team for a school district in San Jose. She and her husband Alec MacLean retired to Grass Valley three years ago. Since joining UUCM she has been a Soul Matters facilitator, a Circle Supper host, and has helped with Hospitality. She is grateful for the opportunity to become more deeply involved in the workings of the congregation and to serve this church community as a Member-at-Large of the Board.
Shannon Dooley-Miller – Nominating Committee
I have been here in Nevada County since 2001 and a member UUCM for 20 years now. I value having my spiritual path and a connection with the community kindled me andat UUCM. I’ve been a nurse for many years and still enjoy working part time and home health. I’m looking forward to continuing to connect with folks at UUCM.
Karl Snyder – Nominating Committee
Karl worked as a career psychotherapist and administrator for a government agency. He joined UUCM shortly after the easing of the pandemic allowed us to meet in person. He currently serves on the Greeting and Justice teams.
Beth Karow – Nominating Committee
Using her bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, and 29 years as a mother to Willow and Rowyn (and only slightly more than that as a wife to Angelo) Beth is a self-described semi-professional procrastinating perfectionist, which basically means she spends a lot of time thinking about how to do things in the best ways possible, but doesn’t always get around to actually doing very much.
She enjoys poetry, pottery, live music, all things herbal, and wearing many hats, both literally and figuratively.
Her spiritual path tends to be of the earth-based, pagan type, or nearly anything that involves ritual, candles, and excellent songs, which she sings with entirely too much gusto.
Her favorite color is rainbow and the enneagram number she most relates to so far seems to be whichever is the latest one Rev. Kevin introduces to the congregation.
She is the exasperated owner of Arlo the Wonder Dog (one wonders how he hasn’t managed to kill himself so far), and a posse of cats, all of whom are dilute gingers and who are, at best, indifferent to Beth.
She has served UUCM on the Worship Team for a very long time.
She tends to question everything, including the wisdom of being asked to write her own biography.
